Located in Glasgow’s West End, Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum opened in 1901 and has been a massive attraction ever since. Split into two sections; “Life” and “Expression”, Kelvingrove is perfect for families and art-lovers alike. Explore the “Life” section of the museum and discover natural history, human history, prehistory, and animals.
The “Expression” section of the museum explores fine art but also features the “Floating Heads” installation by Sophie Cave. Hanging above the grand entryway are 50 large floating heads, each showcasing a different expression, so why not step through the looking glass and into a world where history and surrealism collide.
But if you’re more interested in architecture and design, The Lighthouse might be the place for you. The very first commission by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, The Lighthouse is Scotland’s Centre of Design and Architecture and is a hub for many of the creative industries in Glasgow, often showcasing various exhibitions and events.
