An Ceann Mòr at Inveruglas

An Ceann Mòr at Inveruglas

Situated on the banks of Loch Lomond, An Ceann Mòr is the final installation of the first of many phases of the Scottish Scenic Routes pilot project. Created as an elevated viewpoint, An Ceann Mòr can be accessed by firstly walking through the visitor’s carpark and then past the green woodland, where the structure will be revealed.

Developed by architecture and design practice, BTE, the structure has 31 steps to the top and has been built to the highest standards of sustainability. With stunning views of the Arrochar Alps, stretching from Loch Lomond to Ben Lomond, An Ceann Mòr is a pavilion that proudly overlooks the dream-like loch.

Designed to encourage visitors passing through the scenic routes across Scotland to stop and take in some of the incredible views the West Coast has to offer, An Ceann Mòr’s contemporary pyramid shape gives it a sense of seclusion at its peak. The use of sustainable timber on the project means over time the structure’s colour will fade and become a hue of silver-grey to blend in with the backdrop of Loch Lomond.
